The construction of Gabrovo bypass has been started. The first sod has been turned today under project “Road III-5004 “Gabrovo Bypass” from km 0+000 to km 31+000, section from km 0+000 to km 20+124.5 and a temporary road connection from km 0+000 to km 3+130”. It is funded by the European Union’s Cohesion Fund and the national budget under Transport Operational Programme 2007-2013.

The site was opened at a formal ceremony attended by the president Rosen Plevneliev, the vice-President and the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ekaterina Zaharieva, the Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Kristiyan Krastev, the Chairman of Road Infrastructure Agency’s Management Board eng. Lazar Lazarov, etc.

The contractor for Gabrovo’s bypass is PSVT Consortium which includes: Hidrostroy JSC, “Patni Stroezhi – Veliko Tarnovo” JSC and  “Patengineeringstroy – T” Ltd. The construction contract’s value is BGN 92 940 000, VAT included. The construction supervision will be performed by Obedineni Konsultanti – a company under the Obligations and Contracts Act with partners: Transconsult BG Ltd., Rubikon Engineering OOD and Traffic Holding Ltd.. The amount of the contract is BGN 1 096 032 BGN,

The construction of “Bypass of Vratsa - Road I-1 (E79) from km 0+000 to km 6+816.60” started. The project is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and the national budget under Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013. The first sod at the site was turned at a formal ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ekaterina Zaharieva, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency  Lazar Lazarov and others.

The total length of the section is 6.817 km. The project includes construction of one road junction, two four-arm crossroads and one roundabout and others. The deadline for execution under the contract is 360 days.

The Contractor is Association “Bypass Vratsa” which involves “Trace Group Hold” PLC, Sofia and “PSI” JSC, Stara Zagora. The construction contract is for BGN 14,600,989.45, VAT included. Construction supervision will be exercised by “Traffic Holding” Ltd. Their contract is for BGN 1,125,600, VAT included.

The bids of the participants in an open procedure for award of public procurement contract “Determination of Contractor for the Construction of Road II-18 “Sofia Ring Road - West Arc” from km 0+780 to km 6+309” were opened at the Road Infrastructure Agency.

In the Road Infrastructure Agency were opened the price offers of the admitted bidders in the open procedure for the award of contract for “Selection of  contractor for design and construction of site: “Northern Speed Tangent from km 0+000 to km 16+540”. The project is co-financed by the European Union Cohesion Fund and the national budget through Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013. The candidates’ offers were opened in the presence of engineer Iliana Zaharieva, member of RIA Management Board, representatives of the applying companies and others.

The criterion for the selection of a contractor is the economically most advantageous offer determined through a complex evaluation including the following indicators:

The chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency, engineer Lazar Lazarov, signed the contract on the construction of  “Vratsa bypass – road I-1 (Е79) from km 0+000 to km 6+816,60”. The project is co-funded by the EU Cohesion Fund and the national budget under Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013.

The construction contract of Vratsa bypass amounts to BGN 14 600 989.45, inclusive of  VAT. The contractor is the “Obhod Vratsa” Union consisting of Trace Group Hold PLC, Sofia, and PSI PLC, Stara Zagora. Engineer Tsvetan Tsonev signed it on behalf of the construction company. The ceremony was attended by Minister Lilyana Pavlova, the members of the MB of RIA Ms. Lazarinka Stoichkova and engineer Iliyana Zaharieva and others.

The Chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency engineer Lazar Lazarov signed the contract for design and construction of Struma motorway, Lot 2, Dupnitca – Blagoevgrad section from km 322+000 to km 359+483.52. The project is co-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund and the state budget under Operational Programme „Transport“ 2007-2013.

The contract for design and construction of Lot 2 is in the amount of 298 935 000 BGN, VAT excluded. The contractor is Consortium Struma – Lot 2, Sofia (Impresa JSC, Rome, Italy, GBS Infrastructural Construction JSC, Sofia, Bulgaria and Patstroy–92 JSC, Sofia, Bulgaria). On behalf of the Consortium the contract was signed by engineer Georgi Harizanov.

The ceremony at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works was attended by Minister Lilyana Pavlova, Mrs. Lazarinka Stoichkova and Mrs. Iliana Zaharieva - members of the Management Board of RIA, etc.

At Road Infrastructure Agency the offers have been opened for supply of counters/classifiers for permanent registration of traffic and portable weigh-in-motion scales. The supply of the equipment is under the Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project of the Republic of Bulgaria and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The following offers were opened in the order in which they had been submitted to RIA’s Registry department:
